Bungle Bungle / Emma Gorge ex Kununurra-Code: KBE

This flight circles the Ord Irrigation plantations and 300 million year old sandstone cliffs of Hidden Valley National Park, highlighting the contrasting Ancient landscapes weathered by the forces of time and eco systems impacted and enhanced by the economic demands of modern society.

Following the fertile irrigation plains fed by the vast water resource supporting sensitive native flora and fauna of Lake Argyle, time is turned back as the worn ancient sandstone massif of the Bungle Bungle rises from the valley floor below. Rich in Aboriginal heritage this landform is strongly represented in local Law and Dreamtime.

After extensive photo opportunity the flight turns northward, circling the world famous source, Argyle Diamond Mine, of Pink and fine quality Champagne diamonds. You now have time to reflect on the region with a refreshing lunch and self-walk tour of Emma Gorge. You may soak your feet in the campsite pool or walk through the gorge, 1hr each way, for a swim in the natural waterhole. A towel, good health and steady footwear are recommended. Get comfortable as the return flight offers more photo opportunities before landing in Kununurra.

Alcohol available at Emma Gorge but not inclusive in tour.
